IN FOCUS: Engineered Garments Short Trench Jacket
Daiki Suzuki's design for the Short Trench Jacket holds closely to the key features associated with the style, which dates back to the mid 1800s. The wide double breasted front, a belt in matching fabric at the waist, and buttoned pockets and cuffs to keep out the rain are all faithfully recreated.
Daiki's major changes are the addition of a warm quilted lining – trench coats were originally worn layered over warmer coats as weather protection – and the dramatically shorter length. The silhouette is completely overhauled, becoming a modern, boxy jacket perfect for cold days in the city.
Available in three fabrics: black Nyco, dark navy wool and black denim.
