PAPIER LABO. is a select store in Tokyo's Shibuya district. Founded in 2007, the company offers original items alongside a range of well-chosen stationery products related to paper and printing, alongside work from artists using traditional print media. During 2025, we have been stocking PAPIER LABO. washikō (paper incense) alongside the 'Purple Haze' Nepenthes incense.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Two special products have been created for the pop-up.
· ORIBEYAKI TRAY – Troy Town Occidental Yakimono for PAPIER LABO.
Troy Town was founded by Aaron Angell in 2014. It is a radical and psychedelic not-for-profit pottery for artists. Troy Town is Aaron’s personal studio and also a space for artist residencies, public outreach workshops, and youth employment programmes. Since its founding it has hosted over 100 artists in residence and provided jobs for 25 young people, as well as workshops for hundreds of local people. Previous resident artists include Enrico David, Anthea Hamilton, Allison Katz and Sophie Von Hellermann.
In terms of materials and techniques, Troy Town is an Anglo-Japanese pottery, with a particular focus on reverse-engineering regional Japanese glazes and clay bodies (such as hagi and oribe) for their use in a western context.
This oribe ware tray is designed for use with PAPIER LABO.'s washikō incense and is limited to 30 pieces.
· WASHIKŌ POUCH – Nepenthes London for PAPIER LABO.
These hand-sewn tweed pouches use offcuts of tweed fabric from other Nepenthes projects. Each includes an amount of PAPIER LABO.'s washikō incense (also available separately), and will gently scent a drawer or cupboard when left inside.
The Made in England tag also allows it to be used as a cute bag charm. Every piece is unique, with different arrangements and patterns of tweed fabric. Five different scents are available — sage, ylang ylang, tea tree, geranium and lavender.
In addition to these limited edition products, the main pop-up features PAPIER LABO. products from their Shibuya select shop.
· Various print artworks including collotypes by Ichigo Sugawara, Lieko Shiga, Masahiro Sambe and Risaku Suzuki.
· Postcards by Izumi Shiokawa and Yoko Yamano.
· Letter paper, stationery organisers, tape, envelopes and photo frames designed by PAPIER LABO.
· Washikō incense and rope incense in various scents.
We hope to welcome you to the event and the pop-up to enjoy browsing PAPIER LABO.'s selection as well as the clothing collections from the Nepenthes brands!
