Bedford Jacket – Dark Navy Ripstop Cotton

The epitome of the Engineered Garments style, the Bedford Jacket appears in every collection, sitting halfway between a dress jacket and chore coat.

The removable buttons are fastened with metal ringlets, a reference to designs made for factory workers who may not have had the time or skill to sew on replacement buttons. Another sign of the jacket’s utilitarian nature is the additional stitching on the yoke and through the front and side of the body. Commonly found on uniforms and workwear, additional stitches on stress points allows for greater durability, increasing the lifespan of the garment.

However, despite the boxy silhouette, other details prevent it from being classified wholly on the side of workwear. The peaked lapel and two-piece sleeves add sophistication to an otherwise casual garment.
