Cruiser Jacket – Gold Fake Melton Wool
Inspired by the workwear worn by lumberjacks in the Pacific Northwest, the Engineered Garments Cruiser Jacket draws on the heritage of traditional logger jackets, originally designed to withstand the region’s wet climate. Often made from wax-treated tin cloth for its resistance to rain and abrasion, these rugged jackets first appeared in the 1910s and 1920s, with versions produced by brands including Black Bear, Pendleton and Woolrich.
Taking particular inspiration from the iconic Filson Cruiser, the jacket features a practical four-pocket front, while the curved collar and collar tab reference the Woolrich Woolen Mills Mackinaw Cruiser. Thoughtful details include a rounded collar with storm tab, a combination snap and button fastening, two flap-and-snap chest pockets, two lower hand pockets with top and side entry, and multiple internal pockets. A miniature pocket on the front left, a pen pocket on the left breast pocket, a sporty zip-closure rear pocket and button-adjustable cuffs complete this considered take on a classic workwear staple.
