IAC Pant – Charcoal Smoke Print Polyester
Italy has long been synonymous with luxury—from fine wine and leather goods to high fashion—a sense of style that extends even to its military. The Italian Armed Forces are known for some of the sharpest uniforms in the world, particularly their army pants, which inspired the Engineered Garments IAC Pant. IAC stands for Italian Army Combat, referencing the Modello Roma 75—the battledress that replaced the country’s outdated M1955 fatigues in 1971.
Engineered Garments’ version remains largely faithful to the original while incorporating signature EG refinements. The leg starts wide at the waist and tapers slightly toward the hem—a departure from the straight-leg silhouette of typical fatigues—allowing for freedom of movement while still accommodating layering. At the bottom, a zippered hem makes the pants easy to wear with army boots, with the exposed zipper framed by a sewn-in fabric patch.
At the top, behind the original flap pockets, founder Daiki Suzuki, now designers Kenta Miyamoto, and Kunimasa Odagi have retained the two hidden slash pockets, providing unexpected depth and storage—a quintessentially Nepenthes touch. The pegtop leg with a pleated front contrasts with the cinched hem for a striking silhouette. The waist features belt loops for those who prefer a belt and a twill tape drawstring for a flexible, on-the-go fit.
