The haori is a traditional Japanese jacket that dates back to the Edo period (1603–1868). Originally worn by samurai over their kimono for warmth and status, it eventually became popular among the general population as an outer layer for everyday wear.
Unlike kimono, the haori was designed to be easy to put on and remove, worn open at the front and typically fastened with short cords called haori himo. This made it both practical and expressive — a garment that could signal refinement without being overly formal.
This unique piece is based on a traditional kimono haori and features a unique Needles twist.
