A special item created by Aaron Angell, founder of the Troy Town pottery, for Nepenthes London's pop-up with PAPIER LABO. The tray can be used to burn washikō incense safely and elegantly.
Originating in the 16th century, oribe stoneware is characterised by deformed, uneven shapes and freely applied glazes — a departure from the rakuyaki style that was prevalent at the time.
Troy Town is a radical and psychedelic pottery for artists. Troy Town is Aaron’s personal studio and also a space for artist residencies, public outreach workshops, and youth employment programmes. Since its founding it has hosted over 100 artists in residence and provided jobs for 25 young people, as well as workshops for hundreds of local people. Previous resident artists include Enrico David, Anthea Hamilton, Allison Katz and Sophie Von Hellermann.
This work is limited to only 30 pieces. As this is a handmade piece, please expect variation in the product you receive.
